IT company RIM has decided to have its IT engineers work on the update of its IT product, the operating system for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. This means that the update will be released only next year and that RIM's BlackBerry Messenger IT service is not supported by the OS. Senior vice president David J. Smith said that "As much as wed love to have it in your hands today, weve made the difficult decision to wait to launch BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 until we are confident we have fully met the expectations of our developers, enterprise customers and end-users. We are committed to developing a seamless BBM solution that fully delivers on the powerful, push-based messaging capabilities recognised today by BlackBerry users around the world and were still working on it."
